This brings back so many memories of reading *Goodnight Moon* with my children. Our routine was amazingly similar, right down to the “hush.”

I like Roald Dahl too, but never read his books aloud with my children like I did the others I mentioned.

Goodnight Moon and Maurice Sendak’s Where the Wild Things Are are two of my favorites. Oh, and we also had a lot of fun with the poetry of Shel Silverstein.

Another beautiful post. ‘Good Night Moon’ was always a favorite with my four children, too. They are all grown and gone now as well….and often mention this book with fond memories.
