Hi, Melissa.

Your question addresses an issue I've struggled with for much of the first 8 months of this blog. Where should things go?

I've reached some conclusions about that and I have my reasons for reaching them, all of which I'll explain when I've finished the new changes and additions I intend to make.

I'll drop you a link when it's done.

I always loved that commercial and you're right, it does say something about the creative process.

Out of curiosity, why don't you just create separate categories on your blog for your own artwork and poems? I think it would all go very nicely together with the articles you're writing.

Ken,

I love parables! Thanks for sharing.

Here is an examle of one of my lick, lick, lick, bite scenrios.

Last week I saw an expensive craft machine on an infomercial that I'd really like to have. Lick

Thought about it the whole next day, coming up with project ideas. Lick.

Decided to call the number and purchase the machine because of my love of anything creative and I could make so many things for my grandchildren. Lick.

Next day I was in buyer's remorse hell. What was I thinking by buying that $500 machine? I am moving next month and need lots of money for that. I think I made a big mistake. Lick.

I saw in a craft store flyer that the item I bought was on sale! I had to decide if I would return the machine I bought when it came, but decided not to because my purchase included tons of stuff that you don't get when you buy it in a store. Lick, Lick.

Went through the what the hell am I going to make that is worth the cost of the machine? Answer came quickly -anything I feel like. Lick, Lick, Lick.

All remorse gone and I know I made the right decision. BITE!

Terrific post! That commercial is so much a part of my childhood that it will be easy to remember your thoughts/expansions about it. (And no, I think he's just in a full jumpsuit. We wore a lot of those back in the day...)
